Bobby was later adopted but recently returned after breaking through a gate and escaping again. The adopter lived near a school, and neighbors expressed safety concerns due to his roaming. The adopter noted that Bobby can be standoffish at times and somewhat protective but reported he was good with children. Medical: Bobby was neutered in 2024 and was recently processed under sedation. He is heartworm negative and has previously received treatment for FAS in the shelter environment. Staff Notes: During a recent walk, Bobby initially gave a low growl and husky-like howl when approached in his kennel but relaxed after calm interaction. He allowed loop leashing and walked outside appropriately. His tail was initially tucked but gradually relaxed. He allowed petting on his back and hind end, and leash removal was completed without issue. Behavior Observations: Bobby is head-shy and cautious with touch above the shoulders, often displaying lip licking, stiffening, or brief vocalization during handling. He is otherwise calm, walks very well on leash, and is non-reactive to other dogs both in the kennel and while walking. Bobby presents as reserved and subdued in the shelter environment but shows potential to form strong bonds in a low-stress setting. Volunteer Notes: Volunteers describe Bobby as aloof but manageable. He allows leashing, walks calmly through the kennel, and explores the yard independently. He will sit for treats but often chooses not to eat them.
