What she does understand is love, attention, and the simple joy of a toy in her mouth. Even though she's listed as six years old, Pennie has the heart and energy of a much younger dog. The moment she came out of her kennel, she brightened up-curious, playful, and full of life. She wasn't totally sure how to play with toys at first, but she quickly figured it out and even played fetch, tail wagging and proud of herself. Before going back in, she tried to take the toy with her, so | let her?she deserved that comfort. Pennie soaked up every bit of affection I gave her. She leaned into me, grateful and sweet, as if she hasn't had much kindness in her life and was finally getting a little piece of it. Pennie is heartworm positive, but it is treatable. Rescues will need pledges to tag her and get her the medical care she needs. Without an adopter, foster, or rescue stepping up with pledges, she will not make it past tomorrow. This girl has so much love, joy, and life left to give. She just needs someone to say, "I'II help her." πΉIntake 3 stray dogs roaming π Shelter Notes: 11/12/2025 ?
