A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.? She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with concerned eyes and a low tail. She was approached by a male shepherd. She was tolerant of him sniffing her, but she had concerned eyes and did not return the greeting. She then began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to tolerate dogs approaching her and sniffing her, but she was timid and did not return the greetings. After a while, she began to relax more and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She would approach the handlers often and seek affection. She is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog.
