About Zoey

A5784344 DATE ADMITTED TO COUNTY CARE: 2026-06-19 ANIMAL TYPE: DOG AVAILABILITY STATUS: Ready to go home PRIMARY BREED: PIT BULL PRIMARY COLOR: BROWN SEX: Female (Spayed) SIZE: LARGE WEIGHT: 61 AGE: 9 years 0 months PET PROFILE CAME IN AS AN OWNER SURRENDER HEALTH WAIVER FEMALE SPAYED ⇧  Previous             X104 A5678663 Tig... ⇩  Next                 X106 A5778591 Orc... Description Note: Health Waiver; UTI 6/22/26 Known history of aggression: went after other dog in home two times unprovoked. 6/23/26-Play Group Note: 'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female shepherd and became very tense, with wide eyes, hackles raised and straight-out stiff tail. She froze in front of the other dog and maintained this body language. A handler broke her focus and steered her away. She began to roam the yard and explore. She maintained this extremely tense behavior and body language around the other dogs for the rest of her time in the yard. She did climb into the pool once and enjoyed some brief time in there. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. Due to her extremely tense behavior around the other dogs, requiring constant supervision from the handlers and two attacks on a dog in the previous home, she will likely do best as the only dog in the home. She will also require a known history of aggression disclosure form, for the behavior in the previous home. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION WITH KNOWN HISTORY OF AGGRESSION DISCLOSURE, NO OTHER DOGS (RECOMMENDED)
