Description 'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He then approached a male shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with him. He began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He attempted to mount an older male shepherd. The older male gave him multiple consecutive air snap corrections, while coming forward and chasing him off, over correcting him. Tater-Tot took this and had no negative reaction back. He later offered a play bow to a young male shepherd, but the shepherd offered him an air snap warning for space. He offered another play bow, and the male shepherd escalated his corrections, giving a few consecutive air snaps. Tater-Tot took this and had no negative reaction back. He was later approached by a playful female dog that offered him play bows and playfully pawed at him. He accepted her invitations to play, and they engaged in rough and rowdy play. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He did try to mount some dogs during his time in the yard, but he took corrections from other dogs and was also able to be steered by the handlers. He would benefit from being neutered as soon as possible. Tater-Tot is social with the other dogs and prefers a rough and rowdy play style.
