She became tense, raising her hackles with a high stiff tail as a few dogs came up to the fence to greet her. She did not commit to greeting them and stretched from about a foot away. She entered the play yard calmly and with hackles raised. She tolerated a male shepherd coming up to greet her, tolerating him sniffing her body and only briefly sniffing him in return. She had her hackles raised while avoiding a nose-to-nose. She remained tense but tolerated a playful female collie coming up to greet her, only allowing a body sniff with no direct nose-to-nose. She spent the next few minutes calmly exploring, keeping to herself. She began approaching the handlers with a loose body to solicit affection. She appeared to relax and began approaching the other dogs. She exchanged soft greetings with a large male shepherd, appearing to be loose with soft eyes. She began approaching other dogs to greet them instead of being approached. She was also comfortable with other dogs surrounding her while she was receiving affection from the handlers. She needed a brief acclimation period to become comfortable with the new dogs. Due to her history or resource guarding from other dogs she should be fed separately if housed with other dogs/animals.
